The slate found in the New England region of the US is noted for its high quality. Our slate is freeze thaw resistant, acid resistant and exhibits a very smooth cleft. We have perfected the art of honing our slate to a satin smooth finish, unlike any other stone. Our slate is quarried to size and shipped to your door. Slate is healthy, beautiful and versatile. The staircase flows in concert, beautifullyfrom the expansive Natural Cleft Mottled Purple first floor, down through the Bluestone walls, to the solid hardwood floor, allowing Shelburne Museum visitors the opportunity to revel in the beauty of all-natural architectural products. Natural Vermont Tumbled Slate Tile Our slate tile is gently tumbled with sand, pebbles and water. This creates a worn patina with gently rounded features. The tiles will have the look of a time worn floor.
